Sticks & Stones – 2004

genre:

length:

format:

log line:

psychological drama

43 page independent short

mini-DV

"A young girl finds God in a television broadcast and embarks on a strange and disturbing journey."

notes:

This project was produced, written, and directed by Arnie Reyes of Floppy King Productions.  The 43-page short screenplay was shot over six days, four locations, and thirteen sets.

lighting:

Sticks & Stones is a dark thriller with seedy characters, locations, and situations.  I worked with Arnie Reyes to examine several potential looks for the project.  Since much of this script happens at night, we settled on a straight, in-camera picture, lighting high-key with lots of shadows, and no post-processing except for mild color and tonal grading.

tools:

camera - Canon XL-1s, 30p, tungsten

lights - Baby 1Kw fresnels, Tweenie 640w fresnels
